Using natural gas to heat its four U-shaped burners, the Southbend HDG-48-M gas griddle separately heats four 12-inch sections to cook several foods on the same surface. Each burner operates with 20,000 BTU and is controlled manually; an electronic spark ignition kickstarts operation. The burner's cohesive structure prevents cold zones because they work uniformly if the user needs the entire griddle to grill a single food. The 1-inch-thick polished, rolled steel plate doesn't warp or crack after consistent reheating due to its thick design, and it retains heat with its highly conductive steel construction. Fully welded, the 48-inch-wide by 24-inch-deep plate has a protected exhaust vent to ensure user safety.
This Southbend HDG-48-M commercial griddle has a lifted design that works well on counters or mobile racks, depending on kitchen needs. The legs are 4 inches and can be raised or lowered to fit kitchen spacing; this structure also prevents heat damage to the surface on which it's placed. With its stainless steel front, vent, and sides and aluminized steel rear and bottom panels, the griddle's sturdy construction is durable enough to endure daily high-volume use. Its walls are reinforced and insulated to reduce the risk of operator injury, and its 5-inch rear splash guards and 4-inch side splash guards bar hot oil and fat from splashing onto nearby surfaces or the user. This design also funnels leftover runoff into the large-capacity grease drawer for streamlined removal.
