The Hoshizaki KMD-460MAJ ice machine head makes crescent cube ice that has a rounded end, which presses against the inside of drinkware, filling the glass efficiently to save on drink expenses. Each day, the unit makes as much as 489 pounds of ice, but this depends on the ambient air and incoming water temperature€”the lower the levels are, the more ice the unit can produce. Equipped with CycleSaver™ technology, the unit is designed to produce as much as similar units in fewer cycles.

Because the self-contained condenser in this Hoshizaki KMD-460MAJ ice maker is cooled with air, fans cool the refrigerant. As refrigerant is cooled, it removes heat from the evaporator plate, and water turns into ice. If the unit has a problem, the alert system signals the operator with an issue-specific series of beeps. For servicing and cleaning, the internal components are accessible behind the removable panels.
