To generate cool temperatures, it operates using environmentally friendly R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant. Its condenser is self-cleaning to reduce maintenance needs, and the cabinet is insulated with foamed-in-place polyurethane to prevent temperature changes. This unit includes defrost controls to eliminate ice buildup.

With its open top, product stored in the Turbo Air TOM-48UC-S-N open-air cooler can be accessed easily. Its back is perforated to provide uniform air circulation, ensuring all its contents remain cold. To improve product visibility, its front shield is made of clear tempered glass, while its interior is illuminated with LED lights.
