Because the Hatco GRS-42-F Glo-Ray® heated shelf's surface can maintain temperatures between 80 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit, it can hold prepared foods at safe serving temperatures. Its blanket-type foil element generates enough heat for short-term holding and disperses warmth evenly. Operators can modify temperatures on the thermostatic control as holding requirements change for to-go orders, food pans, and packaged meals. Employees can quickly turn its power switch on or off, and when the unit is in use, the switch illuminates so workers know the shelf is hot.

The Hatco GRS-42-F warming shelf's freestanding design enables implementation into cafeterias, buffets, self-service stations, and workstations. This 42-inch-wide by 15¹/₂-inch-deep by 5³/₈-inch-tall unit is equipped with 4-inch nonslip rubber feet that stabilize the shelf while elevating its extruded aluminum base so users can clean beneath it.
