The top of the range has a griddle plate, which is ⁵/₈ of an inch thick and made of smooth steel that heats up quickly and retains heat efficiently. To control the amount of heat that reaches the griddle, users can adjust the high and low valves.

A standard oven in the base of the Garland G48-G48RS gas range has a handle that remains cool to the touch during cooking, protecting users from burns and discomfort. To adjust the oven's temperature, users can turn the precise thermostatic knobs. A storage compartment next to the oven can be used to store small pieces of equipment or cooking utensils.
