Because the Metro 5A447K3 Super Adjustable™ Super Erecta™ starter shelving unit's five shelves are finished with corrosion-resistant Metroseal 3™ green epoxy coating, this unit is safe to store in dishrooms, walk-in coolers, and other wet, humid, or corrosive areas. This coating features Microban™ antimicrobial protection that inhibits bacterial growth between regularly scheduled cleanings. Each shelf sports an open-wire construction that enhances airflow to reduce dust buildup and provide support for stored contents. While each shelf accommodates 800 pounds, no more than 2,000 pounds should be stored on the unit to preserve its structural integrity.

Although the Metro 5A447K3 starter unit ships unassembled, it's simple to put together due to the four SiteSelect™ posts' shelf alignment indicators. Operators can properly align shelves on the 1-inch-increment circular grooves, and the convenient corner release system provides a tool-free way for employees to reposition shelves and accommodate variously sized containers or packages.
