The Metro 5X317G4 MetroMax? 4 starter shelving unit's shelves and posts are constructed of rust- and corrosion-resistant polymer, withstanding chemicals?in addition to long-term storage?in dry and wet areas. Each of the five shelves includes an open-grid polypropylene shelf mat that promotes air circulation and light penetration while evenly supporting a maximum load of 800 pounds. The posts and mats are treated with Microban? antimicrobial product protection to inhibit bacterial, microbial, and fungal growth between regularly scheduled cleanings. As they become dirty, the mats can be removed and washed by hand or in a commercial dishmachine or washer.

Operators can quickly set up the Metro 5X317G4 commercial shelving unit by attaching the 20 included wedge connectors to the 74³?₁₆-inch-tall posts; once the connectors are secured to the posts, the shelves can be placed atop the connectors. As inventory is rotated, operators can maximize vertical storage space by repositioning the shelves in 1-inch increments along the grooved posts. To account for irregular flooring, the posts' reinforced feet can be adjusted, and when fully assembled, this unit measures 23¹⁵?₁₆ inches wide by 18¹?₂ inches deep by 74³?₁₆ inches tall.
