Each shelf boasts an 800-pound capacity and includes open-grid polymer shelf mats that provide uniform support while enhancing airflow and light penetration. To minimize odor transfer and preserve product quality, the shelf mats are treated with Microban??an antimicrobial treatment that slows the growth of fungi, microbes, bacteria, and mildew between regular cleanings. For simple, thorough cleaning, these mats can be removed and run through a dishwasher or washing machine.

Although the Metro 5X547G4 starter shelving kit ships knocked down, it can be quickly assembled without tools because of the included 20 wedge connectors that snap into the four posts' grooves.
