Suited for use in correctional facilities, the Cres Cor H-339-188-CZ insulated half-size hot cabinet includes features that deter tampering and unauthorized adjustments. A security panel covers its control system, and its door includes a key-locking latch and inboard-mounted hinges. This hi-tensile aluminum unit is built with a structurally rigid internal frame and measures 23⁷/₈ inches wide by 32¹/₄ inches deep by 36¹¹/₁₆ inches high to fit beneath counters. To simplify transport between the kitchen and serving areas, it's fitted with 5-inch swivel casters that have a 1,000-pound total load capacity; two casters have brakes that secure the unit in place as pans are loaded or removed. Its channel pan supports accommodate as many as eight 18-inch by 26-inch pans on 2³/₄-inch centers.

The Cres Cor H-339-188-CZ correctional hot cabinet's three inner-wall heaters produce temperatures as high as 200 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure prepared meals are warm for serving. Insulated with fiberglass, the cabinet's interior preserves original temperatures in cool ambient settings and when the door is opened for short periods of time as pans are retrieved or inserted. Operators can adjust temperatures quickly using the top-mounted control panel's electromechanical thermostat, and its analog thermometer displays an accurate temperature reading. Its power switch illuminates when the unit is on so users can monitor its power status easily.
