It's mounted on 5-inch casters so employees can comfortably wheel it through a cafeteria, medical facility, or dining hall. To protect doorframes and surrounding equipment during transit, it's equipped with a non-marking polymer bumper that doubles as a drip trough. Overall, this full-height unit measures 30 inches wide by 36³/₈ inches deep by 74³/₄ inches high.

To maintain food quality during extended periods of holding, the Metro C599-SDC-UPDC heated cabinet is insulated with high-density fiberglass. It also features alarms that notify operators when it detects low-temperature or low-water levels. Operators can adjust the temperature between 90 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit as holding requirements evolve. To improve convenience, it's equipped with intuitive touchscreen controls, an auto-start feature, and a password-protected control lock that prevents unauthorized modifications.
