Under optimal conditions, the Hoshizaki C-80BAJ-DS undercounter ice maker produces 80 pounds of cubelet ice in 24 hours. Ice is created by water running over the evaporator plate, where it freezes into a curved, cubelet shape that packs tightly into glasses. Once water has frozen and cubes are formed, they are released and fall into the storage bin, which holds as much as 22 pounds of ice for future use.

Cooled by air, the Hoshizaki C-80BAJ-DS ice machine is more convenient to service than a water-cooled unit. Its water circuit can be disassembled to simplify the cleaning process, and its power switch is accessible without removing the front panel. For corrosion resistance and strength, the ice maker is constructed of stainless steel. It is short enough to fit under a cabinet, and with custom cabinetry, it can blend right in. Air flows in and out the front, so it can be placed beside other equipment.
