The Ice-O-Matic MFI1256A ice machine head has an air-cooled condenser, meaning fans blow cold air over refrigerant coils to cool them down so refrigerant can then remove heat from the evaporator, freeze water, and form ice. The ice maker takes air in the front and exhausts it through the back, so it requires a 6-inch clearance on each end. In 24 hours, the unit can produce 1,149 pounds of ice, but this amount is affected by ambient air and incoming water conditions. This unit makes soft, moldable flake ice, which is perfect for frozen blended drinks and seafood and produce displays since it molds around the food, keeping it cool without bruising or damaging it.

The water sensor in this Ice-O-Matic MFI1256A ice maker eliminates the risk of low-water and no-water levels, and this feature is not affected by adverse water conditions. The gearbox and roller bearings are heavy duty, and the gearbox is checked constantly by a load monitoring system to prevent issues caused by overload on the component. Since the evaporator and auger are made of stainless steel, they withstand heavy use in high-volume operations.
