The Hoshizaki DKM-500BWJ Serenity crescent cube ice maker and dispenser uses CycleSaver™ technology to produce a large quantity of ice in a few cycles, saving energy and reducing cleaning and maintenance requirements. In a 24-hour period, 545 pounds of ice can be produced if the unit is operating in an ambient temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit and with a water temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The crescent shape of the cubes helps the ice melt slowly to preserve the quality of the drink.

The operating system is self-contained with a water-cooled condenser, which produces less heat and operates quietly. The Hoshizaki DKM-500BWJ Serenity crescent cube ice maker and dispenser operates with a push button and can dispense 13 pounds of ice is dispensed in one minute. The built-in storage bin accommodates 200 pounds of ice and retains cold air with insulation.
