Measuring 49¹/₄ inches by 35 inches, the True TMC-49-SS-HC milk cooler can hold 13-inch-wide by 13-inch-dep by 11⁵/₈-inch-tall crates, which are supported by floor racks to prevent the reinforced floor from bending and warping. For resistance to rusting, scratching, and denting, the floor and walls are made of stainless steel, while a drain is integrated into the floor so users can rinse the cabinet out. Cartons in the cooler can be accessed through the stainless steel doors, with one that flips up on the top and one that drops down on the side.

For improved operation, the condensing coil is automatically cleaned with the condensing fan motor. When the compressor is turned on, the fan blows in a reverse direction fo 20 seconds, removing buildup of debris and dirt, reducing the coil's energy use while increasing its ability to keep products cool for longer periods. This mechanism is designed to work alongside preventive maintenance.

With forced-air refrigeration, fans in the True TMC-49-SS-HC milk cooler evenly distribute cold air throughout the cabinet, and because the fans have efficient motors, they save energy and lower heat production. Temperature in this unit can be set between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit by the operator. On the external digital display, users can ensure the level is correct, and operators can access the condenser at the rear with its slide-out design.
