The Continental 2RSNSSHD reach-in refrigerator features a solid design made of stainless steel. The two half-height doors help break the cabinet up into manageable sections, which help to maximize energy because smaller sections are opened at a time. Furthermore, there are 3 inches of polyurethane foam in between the metal paneling. To prevent theft after hours, each door is fitted with a cylinder lock, and for mobility as needed, the unit sits on four casters.

Atop the unit is the Continental 2RSNSSHD two-section reach-in refrigerator's self-contained refrigeration unit; this design keeps it mounted away from the floor debris and helps channel exhaust away from the cabinet. To set desired the desired temperature, the refrigerator is fitted with an electronic controller with a digital display. If unsafe temperatures are reached, an alarm sounds until addressed. To prevent water from accumulating, the automatic evaporator helps keep the unit dry, while the off cycle defrost inhibits any water from freezing over.
