As seen in the Designer Line series, the Continental D1RINSA roll-in refrigerator can accommodate one 66¹/₄-inch high rack within its 32-cubic-foot aluminum interior. Externally, the unit is made of stainless steel and is fitted with a solid door that self-closes and can be locked to prevent theft. Between the metal paneling is 3 inches of foamed-in polyurethane insulation to help maintain cool conditions.

Mounted atop the Continental D1RINSA one-section refrigerator is the self-contained refrigeration system that works to produce desired operating temperatures. Staff must access the electronic controller located just above the door to set and monitor the temperature. The side and top air ducts help distribute cool air around the rack. To reduce water collection, the hot-gas condensate system functions automatically, while the off-cycle defrost works intermittently to prevent ice development.
