The Continental D2RESNHD Designer Line reach-in refrigerator features a self-contained refrigeration system mounted atop the cabinet, away from floor debris and to enable ample interior space. This system uses environmentally safe and efficient R290 refrigerant to bring the cabinet to a set holding temperature; staff must access the electronic controller mounted above the doors to set the temperature.

To ensure it can withstand heavy use in commercial settings, the Continental D2RESNHD two-section refrigerator is constructed of aluminum with a stainless steel front. Foamed-in polyurethane insulation is between the metal paneling to help contain cool conditions. The interior spans 40 cubic feet and is fitted with six epoxy-coated wire shelves illuminated by LED lighting. Affixed to the front are four solid, half-height doors that self-close and can be locked.
