To cool products, the True STR1RPT-1HG/1HS-1G-HC Spec Series® one-section pass-thru refrigerator uses a capillary tube system. This system is self-contained, so all the cooling parts sit in one place. Keeping the interior at a set temperature between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit, R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant moves through the coils. Condenser and evaporator fans blow consistently to circulate cold air through the cabinet, where it can move around products and between the gaps of the wire shelves. For durability, these shelves have a chrome-plated finish, and LED lighting keeps the interior bright so that employees can find items quickly. To prevent unauthorized access, each door has a bolt lock.

To help extend the unit's lifespan, the condensing fan motor blows in a reverse direction when the compressor is turned on, blowing off debris from the condensing coil. This 20-second mechanism is a self-cleansing feature that assists in improving the coil's performance and reduce overall energy consumption, but it should not replace preventive maintenance.

The True STR1RPT-1HG/1HS-1G-HC single-section pass-thru refrigerator is made of stainless steel, which is dent and corrosion resistant. Its front has two half doorsa'A¬aa'¬Aglass and stainless steela'A¬aa'¬Aand the back has one glass full door. The glass doors are thermal insulated and double paned, providing visibility and blocking heat. Each door has a heavy-duty handle, so it can be opened and closed many times without being loosened or damaged. Cam-lift hinges close the doors when they are opened less than 120 degrees, and a stay-open mechanism keeps the doors propped open when they are pulled past 120 degrees. When cleaning the refrigerator, the door gaskets can be removed without tools, and the floor underneath can be reached by moving the unit on its castors.
