The True STR2R-2HG/2HS-HC two-section refrigerator has self-closing doors that prevent energy from escaping, and these doors can also be propped open to prevent slamming and accidental injury. The top two doors are made of glass so employees can see product inside the cabinet, and the bottom doors are solid with locks to prevent tampering and theft. Magnetic gaskets seal the doors shut and can be removed for cleaning.

Because the True STR2R-2HG/2HS-HC reach-in refrigerator is made of stainless steel, it is resistant to rust and corrosion caused by water and cleaning chemicals. It can be rolled through the kitchen on its 5-inch castors, and to ensure product stays cold, the unit is insulated with foamed-in-place polyurethane. To help employees quickly identify product, the interior of the unit has bright LED lights. With digital temperature controls, employees can adjust the temperature from 33 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit.

To maintain a clean condensing coil, the unit's condensing fan motor blows in a reverse direction for 20 seconds when initially turned on. This mechanism removes common build up, such as dirt, debris, and dust, which can inhibit operation. Users should continue to carry out general maintenance practices on the coil.
