For durability, the True TSD-47-HC TSD series reach-in refrigerator has a dent- and corrosion-resistant exterior, consisting of stainless steel, anodized aluminum, and GalFan-coated steel. Its steel frame rail is heavy duty to prevent bends and warps, while polyurethane insulation is foamed in place to resist sagging. To ensure smooth operation, the two doors slide on stainless steel bearings and close by themselves to prevent cold-air loss. Inside, products are illuminated by LED lighting and supported on six shelves that can be adjusted in ¹/₂-inch increments. These shelves are coated with PVC for strength and rust resistance, and product can also sit on the floor, which is made of stainless steel that is quick to clean in case of leaks.

To maintain a set temperature between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit, the True TSD-47-HC two-section refrigerator uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant in its capillary tubes. Refrigerant runs through the tubes to remove heat, and the resulting cold air is circulated through the interior by fans. These fans have electronically commutated motors, which means they use less energy and generate less heat than traditional motors. Directing air toward the condensing coil's surface for 20 seconds when the compressor starts up, the condensing fan motor helps maintain a clean coil. As debris, dust, and dirt are removed, the coil can keeping products at intended temperatures and improve unit lifespan. Users should continue to implement preventive maintenance for best results in operation. Because the condensing unit is mounted on the bottom, it is conveniently accessible and enables storage on top of the refrigerator.
