The Hoshizaki R1A-FS(L) reach-in, one-section refrigerator stores ingredients and cold dishes on three adjustable, epoxy-coated wire shelves. Its front, sides, and interior are made of stainless steel, which provides corrosion resistance and adds a sleek accent to kitchens. The cabinet and doors of the refrigerator are insulated with non-CFC polyurethane, and the unit uses a thermostatic expansion valve to cool the evaporator with environmentally friendly R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant.

The top-mounted refrigeration system of the Hoshizaki R1A-FS(L) Steelheart refrigerator is accessible for maintenance. Hot spots inside the cabinet are eliminated by a ducted airflow system and products are illuminated by an LED light.
