Because the Cleveland KDL100 steam kettle is a direct-steam unit, it requires an external source to fill the jacket with steam, so it should be used in kitchens with external boilers or steam generators. A two-thirds steam jacket lines the interior of the kettle so it can heat product uniformly. Its 100-gallon capacity is ideal for warming large batches of rice, stew, pasta, and soup. A domed, hinged, spring-assisted cover helps protect product from contaminants while preserving heat.

The Cleveland KDL100 steam kettle's stationary design enables excess liquid to be released from the 2-inch-diameter draw-off valve. Its reinforced, rolled rim provides strength, while its open, tri-leg base stabilizes the kettle; flanged feet can be bolted to the floor for additional security. The interior and exterior are stainless steel to preserve durability throughout use and simplify cleaning. This floor model measures 40 5/8 inches wide by 43 1/8 inches deep by 43 inches high, or 79 3/8 inches high when the cover is open.
