Most food can be cooked in the Groen HY-6SE-36 HyPlus™ commercial steamer while retaining nutrients and juices. In two compartments, the unit can hold a total of six pans that measure 2¹/₂ inches deep. Steam in the unit is circulated by powerful blowers, ensuring it is evenly spread between cavities and the pans. Durable stainless steel doors on the unit can be reversed to fit into different layouts.

Steam in this Groen HY-6SE-36 electric floor-model steamer is generated in the cabinet base by a pressure boiler, and because the base is 36 inches wide, there is additional space beside the steam compartments to install a steam kettle or prep pans for steaming. Controls in this steamer simplify use, and there are separate on/off switches for the steam flow and boiler. Gauges and sensors in the unit monitor pressure and water levels, automatically shutting off power if they are outside a safe range. After a user turns the boiler off, it automatically drains when the water is cooled to 170 degrees Fahrenheit, minimizing the amount of sediment buildup.
