Providing necessary durability for frequent use, the Continental Refrigerator SWF48N-FB-D worktop freezer's front, top, and sides are made of stainless steel, and its interior and back are made of aluminum. It has an automatic condensate evaporator, and to resist corrosion, the evaporator's coil is plasticized. Accommodating a variety of food pans, the unit has four roll-out drawers, and a magnetic gasket seals them tightly when they're shut to prevent cold air from seeping out of the cracks. To further retain cold air, the cabinet is insulated with polyurethane foam.

The Continental Refrigerator SWF48N-FB-D commercial freezer is mounted on 3³/₄-inch casters, so it can be rolled out for access to the rear-located compressor if needed. Using R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, the refrigeration system is self-contained, and to adjust the temperature, this unit has an electronic controller with a digital display. To inform those nearby of maintenance needs, a high/low alarm sounds if the temperature drops or rises suddenly.
