The Hoshizaki WF27B-D2 worktop freezer is constructed of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and measures 27 inches wide by 31 inches deep by 40 inches high. It offers 7.21 cubic feet of internal storage space. The unit is made of a refrigerated freezer drawer base that's topped with a flat worktop raised to a comfortable height. The freezer sits on four casters€”two of which have breaks€”and can be moved into place in a kitchen set up with minimal labor.

The smooth worktop is equipped with a backsplash that keeps messes and food ingredients from getting behind the unit. The worktop makes a convenient place for operators to prepare and chop foods before placing them in the two refrigerated freezer drawers beneath. The drawers are made of stainless steel and come with gaskets that can be removed for simple cleaning. The black handles are recessed and made of aluminum, and the whole cabinet is insulated with polyurethane foam.

The Hoshizaki WF27B-D2 commercial worktop freezer's refrigeration system is self-contained and accessible from the rear of the machine; as a front-breathing unit, it doesn't need side or back clearance. The system makes use of R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant to keep the internal temperature between -10 and 10 degrees Fahrenheit, even in hot kitchens. The evaporator is non-electric and energy efficient, and it features an automatic defrost system that prevents ice from building up on the coil.
