Meant for slicing through cuts of pork and beef, the Bizerba GSPHI90 manual gravity feed slicer utilizes a 13-inch chromium-plated blade sporting a 60-62 Rockwell hardened edge to ensure even, consistent slices. Its body is made of anodized aluminum and doesn't have any seams, ensuring no food particles get trapped inside during use. Its blade is powered by a variable speed motor that has three speed presets. Food is loaded into the carriage, which is inclined at 25 degrees toward the operator and is slowly funneled down the 40-degree gravity driven carriage to the awaiting blade. Because the pusher plate spends a lot of time in direct contact with meat, it can be removed separately for cleaning. Its shortened thumb guard has a width of 31/2 inches for ample protection without getting in the way.
The Bizerba GSPHI90 deli slicer is intended for countertop use, as evident by its low-profile design measuring 281/2 inches long by 221/2 inches wide by 242/3 inches high; a 6-foot cord is included with the unit. Elements like its blade speed or cut thickness€”which ranges from 0 to 24 millimeters thick€”are controlled using its front-facing control panel. For further usability, its handles are color coded to reduce confusion, with one being green and the other being red. To further promote safety, it has an indicator light on its front that shines red if the blade is still moving and green if the blade is safe to clean. When the blade inevitably dulls, users can attach the remote sharpening unit and run the machine, sharpening it without operator oversight.
