To accommodate a wide range of products, three of the Cambro CBA186072VS4580 Camshelving® Basics Plus add-on shelving unit's shelf plates are vented, while one is solid. Its louvered shelf plates are ideal for perishables because air can move through their slots and circulate around product. The solid shelf plate can support irregularly shaped items that otherwise could fall through the vented shelves' gaps. Its sturdy design also prevents spills and leaks from dripping onto the floor. To ensure goods are stored on safe, clean surfaces, Camguard® antimicrobial is built into the plates' surfaces, inhibiting fungal and mold growth. The shelf plates are removable and can be cleaned in a dishmachine when desired.

The Cambro CBA186072VS4580 add-on shelving unit's top shelf can hold 400 pounds, while each of the three bottom shelves has a 600-pound capacity. When it's fully loaded, the weight shouldn't exceed 1,800 pounds. For secure attachment to stationary Basics Plus shelving units in L-, U-, or T-shaped configurations, it includes preassembled post connectors and wedges, traverses, and dovetails. Two composite posts are fitted with leveling feet, preventing wobbling that could cause stored contents to fall. This rust-, corrosion-, peel-, and scratch-resistant polypropylene add-on features a brushed graphite look to complement the preexisting unit; it endures temperatures from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit for versatility.
