To provide more versatility than shelving units with only solid or vented shelves, the Cambro CBA243084VS5580 Camshelving® Basics Plus add-on shelving unit includes one solid and four vented shelf plates. The solid shelf plate offers a sturdy surface that's ideal for storing linens and oddly shaped objects. Its louvered shelves feature slotted gaps that encourage airflow across the shelves' surfaces, which helps eliminate moisture and dust; these shelves also are best for storing heavy boxed and bagged products. Though the bottom shelves each hold 600 pounds and the top shelf supports 400 pounds, this unit shouldn't be loaded with more than 1,800 pounds, overall.

Included dovetails, traverses, and preassembled post connectors and wedges facilitate attaching the Cambro CBA243084VS5580 add-on shelving unit to a Basics Plus starter unit. The add-on unit can be configured in U, L, or T shapes to fit storage areas with limited space, and its composite posts with leveling feet ensure it's stable on irregular surfaces. To blend in with the original unit, it's brushed graphite gray, and it resists rusting, corroding, peeling, and chipping to maintain this look. Its polypropylene construction is safe to use in temperatures between -36 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's compatible with storage in freezers, coolers, dishrooms, and pantries.
