Since the Cambro CBA244284S4580 Camshelving® Basics Plus add-on shelving unit isn't a stand-alone unit, it must be set up with a Basics Plus starter shelving unit. Included traverses, dovetails, and preassembled post connectors and wedges facilitate attachment to the original unit in L, T, or U shapes so the conjoined unit can fit cramped storage spaces. For versatility, it's made of polypropylene, which withstands temperatures between -36 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit and can be used in hot dishrooms, walk-in freezers and coolers, and dry pantries. This rust-, corrosion-, peel-, and scratch-resistant polymer helps preserve the unit's brushed graphite appearance to maintain uniformity with the starter unit.

Suited to store linens, irregularly shaped product, and small goods, the Cambro CBA244284S4580 Basics Plus add-on shelving unit is equipped with four tiers of solid polypropylene shelf plates. These flat, sturdy surfaces contain spills to protect other stored contents from damage, and they won't crease towels and sheets like louvered shelf plates could. To retain the shelving unit's structure, no more than 1,800 pounds should be loaded onto the add-on unit. The top shelf is designed to support 400 pounds, while each lower shelf has a 600-pound capacity.
