The plates' gapped surfaces promote airflow around stored goods, eliminating dust and moisture accumulation to maintain a clean storage area. The shelves can also be removed for thorough washing in a dishmachine, and they're simple to wipe clean when needed. The top shelf has a 400-pound capacity, while each bottom shelf holds 600 pounds. To prevent damage to the unit, it shouldn't be loaded with more than 1,800 pounds.

The Cambro CBA244864V4580 add-on shelving unit includes traverses, dovetails, and preassembled post connectors and wedges to simplify attachment to a Basics Plus starter shelving unit in U, T, or L shapes. It's made of durable polypropylene and can endure temperatures from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning it's safe to store in freezers, coolers, dishrooms, and pantries. The brushed graphite color complements the original starter unit, and to preserve this look, its polymer construction resists peeling, scratching, rusting, and corroding. Overall, it measures 48 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 64 inches high, and two composite posts with leveling feet balance it on irregular surfaces to prevent wobbling.
