Because all the Cambro CBU183672V5580 Camshelving® Basics Plus starter shelving unit's shelves are vented, it's an ideal unit for storing perishable items. Air can pass through the slotted surfaces and around the stored items for uniform air circulation. Even airflow also helps remove moisture and dust buildup if the unit is stored in humid or dry areas. Operators can wipe the shelves clean regularly to maintain a safe storage surface, and the shelves can be removed for sanitization in a dishmachine. To hinder formation of stains and malodors between standard cleaning cycles, built-in Camguard® antimicrobial agent inhibits bacterial and fungal growth.

The Cambro CBU183672V5580 starter shelving unit's top shelf has a 400-pound capacity, and each lower shelf can hold 600 pounds. To reduce the risk of structural damage, only 1,800 pounds should be stored on the unit at a time. To accommodate a wide range of products, the shelves can be raised and lowered along the unit's four composite posts. These posts are fitted with leveling feet that stabilize the entire unit on sloped or uneven ground. Because it resists rust and corrosion and is safe to store in temperatures from -36 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, this unit can be used in steamy dishrooms, dry storage pantries, and walk-in coolers and freezers. For quick installation, the shelf kit includes 10 traverses, five bags of eight dovetails, and preassembled post connectors and wedges.
