The unit has a self-contained, top-mounted refrigeration system that uses R290 refrigerant to bring the unit to desired temperatures. The electric evaporator reduces condensation, and the off-cycle defrost prevents ice from collecting.

The Continental 2RESNSASGDHD reach-in refrigerator features a stainless steel exterior and aluminum interior; both metals are durable and resistant to corrosion. Between the paneling is 3-inches of polyurethane foam to help lock in the cold. The unit has two sets of half-height sliding doors with double-paned glass to provide a clear view of the interior.
