Because it has a straight edge and spear point, it pierces through thick crust, rinds, and skins. The blade is made of DEXSTEEL®a'¬a€a durable, stain-free steel that supports high-volume prep work. Constructed of polypropylene and Santoprene®, the handle is comfortable to grip and slip resistant. It has a contoured design and built-in finger guard for protection. This handle is yellow and black, so it can be integrated into a color-coded prepping system.
