For gas stations or grocery stores, the Federal ECSS40SC refrigerated end-cap merchandiser measures 40 inches long by 40 inches deep by 60 inches high and features a self-serve design that takes strain off employees. This four-tiered unit is built with a black metal base, interior, canopy, and shelves for cohesive presentation, and operators can select a laminate color when ordering. Its two metal shelves can be raised or lowered to enhance presentation and accommodate bottled drinks, packaged sandwiches, and other snacks. LED top and under-shelf lighting illuminates displayed contents to grab customer attention and increase impulse buys, and to ensure stability on irregular flooring, operators can modify its adjustable leg levelers.

The Federal ECSS40SC self-service merchandiser is a self-contained refrigeration unit with a condensate pump and a simple-to-clean, rust-resistant evaporator coil compartment that streamlines operation and maintenance. This system uses R449a refrigerant and maintains temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit. To preserve these temperatures, it's insulated with high-density foam. A curved air deflector on the bottom tier circulates cool air in front of products while helping prevent pests and dirt from entering the unit. Staff can monitor temperatures with the thermometer and modify these temperatures as needed with the accessible temperature control.
