Groen AH/1E-20 20 gal. Steam Kettle - Stationary, 2/3 Jacket, Liquid Propane

Designed to make large batches of rice, soups, and stews, the Groen AH/1E-20 steam-jacketed kettle has a 20-gallon capacity. Steam in the unit is self-contained and does not require an external generator or boiler. The hollow jacket holds heated water that creates steam, extending up the bottom two-thirds of the kettle between its interior and exterior, providing even heat without hot spots or scorching. Operators can adjust the heat from 150 to 270 degrees Fahrenheit, while the unit automatically regulates the thermostat by sensing the temperature and turning the power on and off.

Made of 316 stainless steel, the interior liner cooks acidic foods without corroding. The tangent draw-off valve is integrated into the kettle and helps clean its interior, enabling users to drain liquid product off into a separate container. A strainer in the valve prevents debris from getting inside and clogging it.

Safety features integrated into the control system of this Groen AH/1E-20 stationary steam kettle include a pressure gauge€”detailing steam pressure in the jacket€”and a water sight gauge that enables operators to check water levels in the jacket. When the water level is too low, the burner shuts off to prevent burnout and the indicator light activates. The maximum pressure the unit should reach is 30 PSI, so if the jacket pressure reaches 27 PSI, the pressure limit control turns off the burner, and if the pressure drops to 22 PSI, the control turns the burner back on. A pressure safety valve is also included, releasing steam from the jacket if it reaches 30 PSI.
