With an 80-gallon capacity, the Groen EE-80 steam kettle is best used for high-volume cooking. Between the interior and exterior, a hollow jacket is filled with water, so when the unit is heated, steam forms. The jacket covers the bottom two-thirds of the kettle, which is more affordable than fully jacketed options, though it may not heat as evenly. Because the unit cooks with steam, it is an easier-to-use alternative to a stock pot range. For cooking barbeque sauce and other acidic products, the interior of this stationary kettle is lined with 316 stainless steel€”a more corrosion-resistant material than 304 stainless steel.

Sheathed in stainless steel and air-gap insulated, the unit keeps heat inside to maintain even temperatures and a cool-to-the-touch exterior. The unit is covered by a counterbalanced, spring-assisted lid that opens and closes smoothly while a draw-off valve is integrated into the unit, so users can remove liquid from the kettle.
