In the cabinet base of the Groen HY-6E HyperSteam™ floor-model steamer, twin generators provide atmospheric steam at 212 degrees Fahrenheit that is distributed throughout the compartments, so it can evenly flow between the pans. Because the steamer has two compartments, it can hold six full-size, 2¹/₂-inch-deep hotel pans, which are accommodated on removable support racks. These racks and the interiors are made of stainless steel€”a material that resists rusting and simplifies the cleaning process. Inside the chambers, panels on the right side are removable to provide access to the internal components.

Doors on this Groen HY-6E electric steamer are insulated with seals and can be reversed in the field to fit into different kitchen layouts. When a door is opened, a switch shuts off the steam generators and blowers to protect users from burns. The control system has an on/off switch and ready light when the unit is ready for steaming, while operators can set the timer to track the cooking process or continuously steam without a time limit. This commercial steamer is a floor model with 6-inch legs and bullet feet that adjust on uneven floors.
