Groen XS-208-8-1 Intek™ (6) Pan Convection Steamer - Countertop, 208v/1ph

The Groen XS-208-8-1 Intek™ convection steamer produces steam at 212 degrees Fahrenheit without a water or drain connection, and it is equipped with inverted flow forced convection technology. When the door is open, its magnetic door switch turns off the convection fan. It features a 60-minute, electro-mechanical timer and an on/off selector switch with two positions. Indicator lights signal standby, heat, cook, and low-water statuses. The low-water warning system is equipped with automatic shutdown control.

This steamer's cavity and rugged, two-panel outer door are made of 14-gauge, reinforced stainless steel. There is a magnetic latch on the heavy refrigeration-style door handle to keep it closed, thought it can be opened during cooking. The stainless steel wire racks support 1-inch, 2¹/₂-inch, 4-inch, or 6-inch-deep pans. Most foods should be steamed in perforated pans without lids for the best results. This method provides the maximum surface area for steam to reach product. Enclosed, solid pans keep food away from the steam, defeating the purpose of steam cooking and possibly making product too mushy for serving, since solid containers trap moisture.

The heating element is external to the compartment, saving it from water exposure. This water reservoir has a 3-gallon capacity and is mounted on the front with a manual drain line.
