In 24 hours, the Hoshizaki KMD-410MAJ ice machine head can produce 418 pounds of ice; this amount is dependent on surrounding conditions, making more ice with lower temperatures of incoming water and ambient air. It makes crescent cube ice, which are rounded ice cubes that are ideal for serving soft drinks, water, and iced tea. The condenser in this unit is air cooled, using air to cool the refrigerant so it can remove heat from the evaporator plate and freeze cubes.

This Hoshizaki KMD-410MAJ crescent cube ice maker is designed to produce the same amount of ice as similarly sized units with a reduced number of cycles. It has an alarm system that uses beep patterns to diagnose issues, and the antimicrobial agent slows down bacterial growth on the components. Finished with stainless steel, the exterior is durable and resistant to rusting.
