Because the Hoshizaki SR48B-18M sandwich and salad prep table has a built-in self-contained refrigeration system that breathes in the front, it's more simple to install with minimal clearance requirements. The capillary tubes of this system utilize R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant inside the cabinet and around the pans via a reinforced air system, maintaining a set temperatures between 32 and 52 degrees Fahrenheit. A high-strength system, this unit is effective in ambient temperatures as high as 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The evaporator is epoxy coated to resist damage through frequent use, and it's nonelectric for energy saving. To grant this unit autonomy, the temperature-initiated defrost system reduces freezing on the system's parts.

The refrigerated base of this prep table is supplied with two heavy-duty doors that provide access to the interior through the aluminum recessed handles. The cabinet's 13.66-cubic-foot interior space holds two epoxy-coated shelves that ship with support pilasters adjustable in ¹/₂-inch increments. The doors are reversible and remain open when propped at 90 degrees. The entire base and interior provide a durable construction of stainless steel, while the entire cabinet is foamed in for efficient temperature locking.

The top of the Hoshizaki SR48B-18M prep table holds 18 sixth-size pans to create customizable configurations, and these pans are shielded with a hinged, insulated cover to help keep products at proper temperatures. Mounted directly in front of the food pans is a ¹/₂-inch-thick polyethylene cutting board on which to create sandwiches and subs. Overall, this unit has a size of 48 inches wide by 35 inches deep by 44¹/₄ inches high with casters for mobility.
