The back of the Hoshizaki ULF46B 46-inch-wide Steelheart® undercounter freezer can be placed within 1 inch of a wall because it has a front-breathing airflow design. The solid, field-reversible door has a stepped design to protect the door gasket, and spring-assisted, self-closing hinges. To simplify loading and unloading, the hinges have a stay-open feature when pulled past 90 degrees. The flush-mounted, extruded-aluminum door handle saves space and imparts a contemporary appearance. Magnetic, removable door gaskets simplify cleaning and provide a secure seal to prevent cold air loss. The two epoxy-coated shelves can hold a full-sized sheet pan and are strong enough to hold 120 pounds. The anodized aluminum shelf supports are adjustable in ¹/₂-inch increments. This unit is equipped with 4-inch casters to simplify movement on floor plans. Two of the casters include brakes to prevent unwanted movement.

The Hoshizaki ULF46B undercounter freezer's refrigeration system is designed for high efficiency, with environmentally friendly R-290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, an energy-saving hot gas condensate evaporator, and an E-coated evaporator coil that resists corrosion and enhances heat transfer. The heated, time-initiated defrost system eliminates the buildup of ice on the evaporator coil. To simplify cleaning, the air filter is removable, and a digital temperature display enables quick monitoring of temperatures. For durability, this unit has a stainless steel interior with a stainless steel exterior front, sides, and top. This unit is designed to maintain NSF-7 temperatures in ambient temperatures up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The cabinet and doors have 2 inches of CFC-free, foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation.
