The Howard-McCray SC-OS30E-3C Impulse horizontal open-air cooler's heavy-gauge steel structure features a white design to complement product displays and blend in with other merchandisers. The cooler's front grill is removable for cleaning and servicing, while the curved plexiglass panels are removable to support continuous lineup. This unit includes a night cover that reduces energy consumption during off hours, and this cooler measures 39 inches wide by 30 inches deep by 44 inches high overall.

The Howard-McCray SC-OS30E-3C cooler's self-contained refrigeration system is bottom mounted to free up storage space on the top of the unit, and the hermetic compressor is sealed away from the outside environment to protect essential components. Equipped with an automatic air defrost that runs six times every day, this cooler inhibits frost and ice development, while the low-velocity fans and interior perforated wall encourage even air distribution. Using the electronic controls, staff can set the unit's holding temperature between 36 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
