The removable matting from the shelves of the Metro X346G4 shelving unit is dishwasher safe. Mats should be fully dried before being placed in refrigerated environments to prevent ice formation. While each shelf can support 800 pounds, the unit as a whole shouldn't be loaded with more than 2,000 pounds when the weight is evenly distributed.
