For durability, the Scotsman FS1522A-32 flake ice machine head has a stainless steel finish. The auger and evaporator are made of stainless steel as well, ensuring they don't rust or corrode when exposed to water and cleaning chemicals. The bearings are sealed to prevent damage, and they don't require maintenance for operation. To slow the growth of microbes, this unit is protected with AgION® antimicrobial, and cleaning is provided with the touch of a button.

A customer favorite, the Scotsman FS1522A-32 ice maker produces chewable flake ice. When operating conditions are ideal, it makes a maximum of 1,612 pounds of ice each day, though when ambient and water temperatures are too high, it makes closer to 1,088 pounds of ice daily. The refrigeration system is air cooled with R404A refrigerant, and it's self-contained to streamline installation and reduce cross-contamination risks.
