Equipped with a 14¹/₂-inch-wide cast iron bottom plate, the Star PGT14IT Pro-Max 2.0? sandwich grill diversifies the food that can be cooked, grilled, or toasted on a commercial panini press. Best suited for heating sandwiches, chicken, steak, and wraps, the panini press's two grooved cast iron plates come together to imprint appetizing grill lines. The top plate presses down easily on top of food and retracts quickly with the help of a spring hinge; the operator can grab the handle on the top plate to open or close it. Cast iron retains heat excellently, so this tool is a great choice for small cafes or restaurants that struggle with serving several back-to-back, grill-based orders. Able to heat to a maximum of 550 degrees Fahrenheit, these plates reduce heat loss while used. Also, an analog thermostat and electronic timer keep the operator on track to prevent burning or undercooking.
