The Town 36508 steamer basket is used for dim sum steaming. In this cooking method, items such as dumplings or vegetables are placed on sheets of paper inside the basket, which is then covered and situated over a source of steam to cook. Made of stainless steel, this unit is resilient to scratching and rusting, while its 8¹/₄-inch diameter limits it to small-portion capacities.
