Since this True STA1F-2HS-HC one-section freezer's exterior is made of stainless steel, it resists corrosion and scratches. Its interior side walls and back are made of aluminum, so they will not dent with regular use. To facilitate cleaning, the interior floor and ceiling are made of stainless steel, and the walls are foamed with a polyurethane insulation called Ecomate to block out warm air. Internal temperatures are displayed on the outside in Fahrenheit or Celsius. To move the unit, 5-inch-diameter castors are included, with locks on the front set for safety. The interior is brightened by LED lights.

This freezer has two half-doors that close on their own but can stay open 120 degrees for full cabinet access. To prevent theft, locks are included on the door's metal handles, and four cam-lift hinges are built into each door section. Creating an airtight seal, magnetic gaskets surround the door frame.

The True STA1F-2HS-HC one-section freezer has a factory-balanced refrigeration system that maintains a temperature of -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Its self-contained capillary tube system holds R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, and to efficiently distribute air, its evaporator and condenser fan motors are electronically commutated. Upon start up, the condenser fan motor reverses for 20 seconds to blow dust and debris off the condensing coil. Because this coil is cleaned regularly, the unit runs more efficiently and reduces energy consumption compared to systems using dirty components. This self-cleaning feature prolongs the unit's lifespan, but it doesn't replace the need for routine preventative maintenance. Since this system is top mounted, it is kept away from floor debris. This unit has an automatic defrost system that runs at a set time and stops when a certain temperature is reached. Its evaporator coils are coated with epoxy to resist corrosion.
