Operators can set the temperature in the True STA2RPT-2HG/2HS-2S-HC two-section pass-thru refrigerator between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit. The refrigeration system uses eco-friendly R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant to maintain these temperatures. Air in the cabinet is circulated by efficient condenser and evaporator fan motors, which are designed to produce little heat and consume less energy than standard motors. Mounted on the top, the system operates away from dirt and debris on the floor but is hard to access for maintenance.

Alongside routine preventative maintenance, the reverse condensing fan motor helps extend the unit's efficiency and lifespan. Each time the compressor cycles on, it reverses direction to remove dust, dirt, and debris from the condensing coil. This reduces the amount of energy use and improves product temperatures.

Products stored in the cabinet sit on six wire shelves that are plated with chrome, and LED lighting brightens the cabinet for visibility. To create a pass-thru design for employee convenience, the True STA2RPT-2HG/2HS-2S-HC two-section reach-in refrigerator has doors on the front and rear. The front doors are half size, meaning they let out less cold air than full-size doors; two of them are glass and two are made of stainless steel. The rear has two full-size stainless steel doors. All of the doors self-close, stay open past 120 degrees, and have protective locks.
