Refrigeration System
The TA2R-2S features a factory engineered, self-contained, capillary tube refrigeration system using environmentally friendly, CFC-free 134A refrigerant. An extra-large evaporator coil is balanced with a higher-horsepower compressor and large condenser to maintain consistent cabinet temperatures even during peak usage. The sealed, cast iron, self-lubricating evaporator fan motor and larger fan blades create an efficient, low-velocity, high-volume airflow design that ensures faster temperature recovery and shorter compressor run times — critical in the busiest foodservice environments. The top-mounted refrigeration system positions the evaporator completely outside the food zone, maximizing usable interior capacity. Hot gas condensate enhances energy efficiency, and a glass condensate pan prevents electrolysis for long-term reliability.
Cabinet Construction
The exterior of the TA2R-2S is constructed entirely of 300 series stainless steel — covering the doors, front, sides, back, and bottom. This premium-grade stainless offers higher tensile strength than standard stainless, resulting in greater resistance to dents and scratches. The interior features NSF-approved white aluminum side walls and back liner, with 300 series stainless steel door liners and a stainless steel floor with coved corners for easy cleaning and sanitation. The entire cabinet structure and solid doors are foamed-in-place with high-density, CFC-free polyurethane insulation, providing superior thermal efficiency. The welded, heavy-duty galvanized frame rail is dipped in rust-inhibiting enamel paint for corrosion protection inside and out. The unit rides on 4-inch (102 mm) diameter stem castors, with front castors equipped with locks for secure positioning.
Doors
Both solid doors are constructed of 300 series stainless steel on the exterior and interior liners, and are designed to open within the cabinet's overall dimensions — a valuable feature in tight kitchen spaces. Each door is fitted with a 12-inch (305 mm) recessed handle that is foamed-in-place with a sheet metal interlock, ensuring a permanent, solid attachment.
