With its two-deck design, the Vulcan VIR1SF infrared upright broiler is heated by four infrared burners that cook foods evenly on the cooking grid. Using natural gas, users can ignite the pilot system easily; infinite heat control valves enable users to adjust burner output, depending on desired results. The cold-rolled steel bar cooking grid measures 25 1/2 inches wide by 24 1/2 inches deep. Its open construction helps air move freely around product for even heating, and its steel composition is conductive. Beneath the grid, a full-width, floating drip pan collects leftover grease and food particles for streamlined removal and cleaning.

The lower deck of the Vulcan VIR1SF upright broiler is a standard oven, which can adjust from 150 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit to support different cooking methods. Within the oven, its porcelain bottom, side, and indoor panel are easy to wipe down due to their smooth construction. Overall, it measures 27 inches wide by 27 inches deep by 13 inches high. To endure common wear from high-volume use, its front, front top ledge, sides, base, stub back, and top have a resilient stainless steel construction. This unit is supported stably by 6-inch legs.
